COMPOSITES
Composite materials are widely used in the aerospace industry and have allowed engineers to overcome obstacle limits in conventional materials. By creating hybrid materials, engineers have been able to develop light-weight, high-temperature resistant composite materials that will allow the next generation of high-performance, economical aircraft designs. Usage of such materials will strengthen the structure, reduce fuel consumption, improve efficiency and reduce direct operating costs of aircrafts. Composites play an important role in the future of aerospace. New aircraft design will be increasingly made of nonmetallic materials and the knowledge and skills necessary to repair this type of aircraft will be increasing in demand.
